ICONDA®Bibliographic database

ICONDA®Bibliographic is one of the worldwide most comprehensive systems for retrieval of planning and building related publications.
The database was first launched in 1986.
It is endorsed by the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction CIB.

More than 20 renowned international organisations from the research, academic and industrial domains contribute as content partners records to the database.
Its combination of thematically comprehensive scope, indexing depth (down to the scale of single journal/book articles), the increasing number of directly linked full texts, and the expertise of the specialists providing content makes it unique.

A board of international experts from the production network supervises the quality of content.

The ICONDA®Bibliographic database provides

  • more than 800,000 records for international publications from the planning and building domain, including bibliographic information, keywords and/or abstracts for the primary document source (books, journals, standards, research reports etc.)
  • a steadily increasing number of links to externally available full text originals (online access, download or ordering)
  • options for exporting search results in various file formats for further processing in text or literature administration applications
  • monthly updates of the database content

Fraunhofer-Informationszentrum Raum und Bau IRB (Fraunhofer Information Center for Planning and Building IRB), acting as the ICONDA®Agency,
coordinates the production, compiles the database and promotes its use.

ICONDA®Bibliographic Board:

composed of international experts from the production network's main contributors to the bibliographic database,
the board supervises the quality of content and assists the ICONDA®Agency in strategic decisions.

Access to the database @ host Fraunhofer IRB:

  • full display of records liable to charges
  • for occasional users: day rate access on request.
  • for frequent or permanent users: subscription, access authorisation by default via automatic recognition of IP addresses (access via user/password for mobile and off-campus access on request)
